Membership of the Club is inclusive and open to everyone interested in the game of bowls. Prospective members do not need to have any previous bowling experience. The Club has an all-weather green which is used all year and a short mat for indoor bowling during the winter. Applications are welcome at any time throughout the year.
Anyone who is thinking of taking up the game of bowls is welcome to visit the Club. Friendly roll-ups between members take place on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoons throughout the year (2pm summer, 1.30pm autumn/winter), and potential new members are welcome to turn up for a game. We can provide bowls for you to use, but we do ask that you wear flat shoes such as trainers. Alternatively, you can come to our Friday night social evening in the Clubhouse from 7pm, or telephone our Secretary who can tell you more about the Club, and who will be happy to arrange for someone to meet you at the Club at a convenient time.
Download the Membership Form here.
You can also contact the Secretary if necessary - see our Contact Page for phone numbers.
If you do join, the Club will arrange for an existing member to show you the ropes until you have settled in. Bowls coaching will be available.
The club has the following classes of membership (current annual subscription rates are shown in brackets):
We are a Self-help Club and Full Members are invited to volunteer for rotas to complete the work necessary to keep the Club operational. The rotas are Bar, Green Maintenance, Club House Cleaning and Grounds Management.
SAFEGUARDING
Our Club wants to ensure that all who participate in our sport do so in a safe, positive, enjoyable environment. No one should ever have to worry about abuse or harassment. We have adopted the Safeguarding guidelines and procedures of Bowls England and the English Short Mat Bowling Association. If anyone has any concerns please report them to one of our Safguarding Officers, details of which are on our contact page.
