The main outdoor season runs from late April to mid-September. League matches are played during the week and mixed friendly matches at the weekends. Approximately 70 matches, home and away, are played throughout the outdoor season. Friendly matches, both home and away, are integral to the Club's programme and are an ideal way for new and inexperienced bowlers to learn the game and to get to know other Club members.
An Autumn Triples Competition for Club members is held from September to December on Sunday mornings. From January to March a roll up competition, known as Winter Madness, takes place also on Sunday mornings.
Short Mat bowls is played during the autumn and winter. A team plays in the Vale of White Horse afternoon league. A Short Mat competition for members takes place throughout the Short Mat season. Short Mat roll-ups happen on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2pm.
A comprehensive set of Club competitions is run for members throughout the outdoor bowling season. Finals weekend is held in early September. The end of season Presentation Dinner takes place in the autumn.
There are County competitions which members are encouraged to enter.
Informal roll-up sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm during the winter and 2pm in the summer.
Members meet regularly on Friday evenings from 7pm when the bar is open and bowling is available. Throughout the year social events are organised at the club at regular intervals. These include BBQs, Quiz Nights and Race Nights.
Floodlit bowling evenings followed by a light supper are arranged during the winter months.
The Club is available for hire by local organisations for an evening's bowling with a meal afterwards. The Club will provide members to organise the evening and give tuition. Contact the Fixtures Secretary for information.
Two fund-raising coffee mornings are held in May and November, when we welcome visitors from the community to join us.
